Women's Day with All Woman Project

  • Maman Tribeca 211 West Broadway New York, NY, 10013 United States (map)

Let's celebrate Women's Day with two amazing models, speakers and influencers: Clémentine Desseaux and Mari Agory

During this inspiring event, Clémentine Desseaux, France's most famous curvy model, and Mari Agory, beautiful Sudanese model, mother, and activist, will share their background, the origins of the All Woman Project as well as the challenges to "fit in" as women today.

All Woman Project, created by Clémentine Desseaux and Charli Howard, is an initiative aiming to better the life of girls and women worldwide by displaying a true, beautiful, positive and unretouched image of women in photo and video campaigns.

They want to provide girls with role models and inspirations to give them the strength and self-esteem they need to be the strong women they are meant to be.

Mari Agory was part of the AWPxAERIE campaign. She deeply shares All Women Project values.

"We believe size, age or color doesn’t limit us as models or as women. We believe all body shapes, ages and ethnicities deserve to be represented in fashion and in the media, helping girls worldwide feel positive and confident about themselves, regardless of what they look like or whatever “flaw” they might think they have. We love an unretouched, beautiful, natural woman!"

About Clémentine Desseaux

clem.JPG

Clémentine Desseaux was born and raised in France. As a child, she loved to visit family members all over the country and as she grew older, she traveled throughout the World. These travels, and her French heritage inspired Clem to express herself through photography, styling, writing and cooking.

After earning a Bachelor’s Degree in International Marketing, Clem decided that the idea of starting an adventurous life in the USA was much more appealing to her than becoming a marketing mogul in a Paris office. Soon after moving to live the American Dream, Clem signed her first modeling contract and later moved to New York where she now lives and works. When Clementine isn't on set modeling, she's curating BonjourClem, a lifestyle site where she features all her favorite things; fashion, food, and French. She also started her own business and co-founded Les Mijotés, a creative agency and production company where she is a art director and producer and manages a team of creatives working for international clients including Puma, YSL, Cynthia Rowley and more.

About Mari Agory

Mari Agory was born in Khartoum, Sudan but has lived in the US since the age of 9. The youngest in a large family of five girls and two boys, Mari and her siblings fled their native country with their mother when she was seven years old as a result of the bloody civil war that has devastated South Sudan for over 2 decades.

With her lanky frame and dark skin complexion, Mari was a sight to see, making her vulnerable to bullying and taunting by kids at her school. The English language soon became the first obstacle in a list of many that Mari would encounter, overcome, and dominate. It wasn’t easy.

Mari attended the University of California Irvine. In addition to walking on to the schools' track and field team as a high jumper and the 800-meter runner, she found her niche in the school’s Public Health program, through which she hopes to improve the health conditions in Sudan in the future.

During her last year at UC Irvine, Mari was convinced by a friend in Los Angeles, CA to pursue a career in modeling whilst finishing her studies. Upon graduating, she moved to Los Angeles to sign her first modeling contract and then moved to New York City to sign a contract with one of the top modeling agencies.

Mari has always devoted her time advocating for South Sudan, and hopes to use her platform as a fashion model to educate people about her native country and the humanitarian crisis currently taking place.

Now a graduate from UCI with a bachelor’s degree in Public Health policy, Mari is currently applying to post-grad programs in clinical psychology.

A new mom as of a year ago, she also looks forward to sharing the endless possibilities of this world with her son and utilizing her platform as a fashion model and education to make a difference in the lives of those not as fortunate as she has been.

About All Woman Project

All Woman Project is a 501-c foundation aiming to better the life of girls and women worldwide by displaying a true, beautiful, positive and unretouched image of women in photo and video campaigns throughout the year. The AWP is also taking actions where body image and self-esteem is the most challenging, in schools, by organizing events, workshops and meetings with school girls form elementary schools to college as well as help them forming their own AWP clubs to help make a change locally at their level where they need it the most.

Providing girls with role-models and inspirations is how we plan on giving them the strength and self-esteem they need to be the strong women they are meant to be. We believe greatness starts with self-love and we’re dedicated to make every little girl convinced that she can do anything, regardless of her background or her body.

Each project is carefully art-directed, casted and curated by models Charli Howard and Clémentine Desseaux, and produced by NYC-based production company Les Mijotés.
